Day 79 of the Posting Challenge, or Christmas Day if you prefer. Twenty-one days to go.
After a lie in, TV, chocolate, nuts, snacks, nap and Muppets Christmas Carol I think it’s fair to say the day has gone well. We’re now watching Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special. I’ve also been looking at Michael Caine on Wikipedia and following links through a series of British character actors and dodgy 1950s films.
I’m now watching a programme on Christmas songs, eating turkey and drinking wine. It’s strange to think that I once wanted to be spritual and sophisticated.
Hope you’re all having a good holiday.
Merry Christmas, sir, to you and Julia both.
Thank you. I hope the holidays are going well – the days are already starting to get longer here. 🙂
Yes- we are still celebrating around here. The twins are home from college for 3 weeks or so – so every day is a party. Plus my beloved Eagles just made the playoffs AND it’s New Year’s Eve. So – yeah – still celebrating. : )
Twins! It was hard enough having two seperate ones. They are currently at home but both going out tonight so we will have a peaceful evening. 🙂
I also once wanted to be spiritual and sophisticated, and secretly thought I might actually be so, and now I am thrilled to have good chocolate at the same time as pretzels. If it happens while I am reading a Regency romance, my trivial bliss is complete.
Bliss is not to be under-rated. 🙂
I could do with a nice, peaceful, one like this, sometime
It’s easier when you have no friends or grandchildren… 🙂
🙂
My sort of Christmas Day. I have been watching Laurel and Hardy in anticipation of the new film!
That looks quite a good film. I once had a Laurel and Hardy autograph – reasonably common in Nottingham autograph books because they were here at the theatre in the early 50’s.
I am looking forward to going to see it.
As usual, I will wait for ut to come on TV. I’m wondering if the new Sherlock Holmes will be any good.
This is one that I might go and see, not sure about the new SH movie!
🙂
Merry Christmas, Quercus!
Thank you.
Wishing you and Julia a Merry Christmas and all the wonders of the season!
A quiet, but thankful for all the good things day here. We had to put old Willow cat to sleep last week, so Christmas is not so merry here.
I’m sorry to hear that. Unfortunately there’s nothing I can say to make things easier, but you did all you could, and she had a good life on the farm.
Oh, so sorry about your kitty. That’s always a terrible time. <3
We are, thank you. Some good dancing on Strictly which was a pleasure. I have never wanted to be spiritual but I have longed to be sophisticated but that went the same way as my plan to rule the world or own a country estate.
Looking on the bright side, you can run a biggish garden with Mrs T but a country estate would require paid staff or polygamy. Neither of those, I suspect, would improve your life.
