Julia managed some decent shots in the Mencap garden this week – I particularly like the one in the featured image, a parent Great Tit shoving food into a permanently open mouth. As a parent I find that image strikes a chord.
She took some video of Blue Tit parents flying in and out of a box, but it won’t load. However she did get a shot of the other Great Tits in the garden. Three broods, all doing well.

The other Great Tit nest

Great photo–as a non-parent, it reminds me more of knocking on the door during U.S .Prohibition era and bribing the guard to let you in…!
Yes, I can see that. π
Beautiful photos from Julia! They do look like our chickadees.
Two broods have flown since the photos – she saw the parents “persuading” the last chick of one brood. π
How annoying for you! My husband has been taking fabulous photos recently on his phone and I can hardly get anything in focus on my camera. Julia’s photos are good, though! π
I’ve always lived in the shadow of my talented wife. Metaphorically, of course. In reality my shadow is huge compared to hers. π

Fab photo – Iβve yet to see one of the birds which frequent my garden actually feeding π
I spent twenty minutes waiting for a shot last week and couldn’t get one. She got two and still found time to work with the group.
The luck of the draw π

It is always a good thing to have competent guest photographers.
Yes, it is.
Nice! And so true about that open mouth striking a chord with parents. Your great tits look very much like our chickadees.
I believe they are part of the same family. π
