Another Lesson

It’s just taken me five hours to start the computer after many false starts and a variety of labyrinthine attempts.

At times like this it is, according to Julia, useless to threaten the machine or use language “like that”.

The lesson I learnt was simple. If you learn a lesson once, profit from it.

Do not, as I did, put it off until tomorrow.

I’m off to cook now.

While I am cooking I will reflect on my capacity for stupidity.

And my declining appetite for turkey sandwiches.

Tomorrow we will be having turkey and ham pie. The picture is of a previous attempt.

Great post! Twice I have had computer issues and had to take it to the shop for a new hard drive. The first time it would eventually start then after a while it refused. The second time, I took it right to the shop. Luckily he was able to get everything off the old hard drive and into the new one. It would be a disaster if he couldn’t retrieve all my files and photos. GEEZ!

I think that language like that is very helpful in these situations. Of course, knowing what you are doing is even better but one can’t have everything.

Not knowing what I’m doing has become a habit where computers are concerned. So has paranoia. I’m sure they are programmed to prod you into starting to spend money after a few years…

The plate of food looks good! May 2018 bring you and Julia all good things. And if you happen to have an outstanding meal of fish & chips, do let me know so I can enjoy it vicariously. It is so hard to get good fish & chips here. 🙂

I will make a mental note and make sure I take some pictures next time. (We had a very nice haddock and chips yesterday but I suppose it would be unkind to mention it). 🙂

Mine appears just to have dumped half of its functions, but never fear, I have checked it out and I can reload it all, and rent it annually instead of owning it outright. Am I being paranoid in smelling a rat?
