Sorry, it’s been a while. If I list all the small tasks I have done in the last five days it looks like slightly less than a morning’s work. As for the 1,500 word article I wrote about Air Sea Rescue, I could realistically have done it in a day if I had kept the research in bounds. I didn’t, and the time flew by. So, a day and a half’s work spreading to five days. I suppose you think I spent some of the remaining time in creative pursuits. I didn’t.

If this were a film, I would now post a picture of calendars turning over, or leaves falling from autumn trees. As I lack an appropriate calendar, and the leaves aren’t actually falling yet, I can’t do that.

I did a bit of decluttering. You can’t tell, because it was mostly throwing away waste paper such as old envelopes and notes where I can’t read my own writing. It came to two small bins, which isn’t a lot compared to the bulk I need to shift. Inn fact, if you look at it terms of the space it takes up, the clutter I binned, compared to the journals that were delivered, leave me with more than I started with. It’s not an inspiring thought.

It’s time to have a serious word with myself. One change I’m going to make is to remove decluttering from my vocabulary and talk about reducing clutter. A slight change of emphasis meaning that I have to have less clutter at the end of the week compared to the beginning.  This needs to happen, as I have a declining supply of days and a seemingly inexorable flood of clutter.

Having decided that, I am going to go and have lunch.
