I had my vaccination this evening. The nurse promised me an aching arm lasting a couple of days and flu-like symptoms lasting around 12 hours. So fa I have had a slightly achy arm, which wore off after about twenty minutes, and absolutely no other problem.Β It’s all very disappointing after the dire warnings. I was hoping to have something to complain about.
Don’t get me wrong – I didn’t need all the information they told me to take, and I did need information I hadn’t ben told to take. As I told one of the nurses, I had come equipped for a vaccination, not a quiz.
Apart from that it’s been the same sort of day as usual, and I managed to eat my sandwiches by 11.30 as I was so bored. Only four parcels to do. Several infuriating customer complaints which are nothing to do with us – if Indian customs hold things up (as they are doing in two cases) we are NOT going to give refunds. We have three others on the go, two where the customer simply changed their mind but it is costing us money, and one where the customer claims they did not get the parcel but the Post Office has a signature to show it was. At one time eBay would tell the customer to get lost, but last time it happened they gave the customer a refund and took the money off us. I sometimes think eBay has become a den of thieves, and that the biggest thieves are eBay.Β I will, however, not bore you with the details.
Glad you got vaccinated! Himself got the first round…he’ll get to travel before me!! Ah well, knowing me I’ll have the flu symptoms so I’ll let you know…it will be quite some time before I get the jab. Stay well!
Is that another way of telling us how young you are? π
I’m older than you from what I can quiz out of your posts…just not old enough this round. He was, but it’s a guessing, signing up and waiting game!! Crazy!
Hooray for vaccination and boo for your awkward customers. I hope that Ebay does the right thing this time.
We will see. We did get a glowing email this afternoon from someone who was very happy with us, so it goes some way to redressing the balance.
A little appreciation goes a long way.
It does indeed. π
Ebay like all big organisations, walk that narrow line between honesty and the alternative!
Very nicely put. π
We are both still chuckling over your first para π
Good to know there’s still something to laugh about in these troubled times. π
How are you feeling?
Cheerful, which is not normal. π As for the arm and the flu-like symptoms = nothing! Only downside is that Bill Gates has stolen my DNA and I am full of nano-bots, if rumour is to be believed…
Yay! Both vaccinated now? At least with round one?
Yes, both had one dose now. Julia should be well-protected now and my immunity will be building up. I just have to wait until May for my second. It might not be the beginning of the end, as Churchill said, but it does feel like the end of the beginning. π
Good! You two have had to put with far too much stress because of Julia’s work situation. Glad you are both got those vaccines!
It’s a start. The test kits finally arrived yesterday. Over two weeks! π
What the heck! Two weeks late and a dollar short? (A variation on one of our sayings. A day late and a dollar short.)
π It just took her half an hour to register the kit, It kept rejecting her email address and the work email address and our postcode. It finally accepted the email but she had to use lower case letters in the postcode. Nobody uses lower case letters in postcodes. It si unbelievable.
Sigh.
All done now. π Just three more to go.
I’m glad you’ve had the first dose of the vaccine. I had an aching arm which lasted for about 36 hours and a runny nose; Richard got flu-like symptoms and an aching arm. We had different makes of vaccine – I had Pfizer and he had Astro-Zeneka. Sorry about the boring day.
I had Pfizer. We should form a club! There are worse things than boring days. π
π
Congrats on getting!!! so laughing….
” Itβs all very disappointing after the dire warnings. I was hoping to have something to complain about”.
πΉπΉπΉπΉ even my cat’s are too
I read an article about th side-effects tonight, but didn’t even feel a twinge of hypochondria. π
Glad you have had the first dose of vaccine now, and that no real side effects were noted. Always a plus when no side effects are noted. Too bad you didn’t get one of the veterinarians helping out with the process. They might not have asked you so many questions, and you might even have received a treat for good behavior. π
It has been rainy here all day under a uniform silver-grey sky, though it is starting to look a bit more rumply as evening approaches.
Yes, a sugar lump would have been nice. Julia ddi get me a Danish on her way home, so it wasn’t all bad. π
We had a mix of rain and sunshine today, and it was nice and light when we left work. Definitely moving on.
lucky you – keep safe. I am happy for you and all others vaccinated π
I’d just like to see more people being done – feel a bit selfish now, when so many people are still to be done. Trouble seeing myself as either old or vulnerable. I still feel 19. π
19 is a great age π keep that feeling (I feel like 8 years old myself)
It is great to be vaccinated and being cared like this. You are not selfish. I hope we all will get our turns soon. All the best
Yes, the sooner the better. π
