This is the latest list of events for Kids in the Kitchen.

I would like to point out that the “bugtastic” baking does not contain bugs and the hedgehog rolls are not made out of hedgehogs, so vegetarians have nothing to fear. Of course, if it was left to me…

Kids in the Kitchen

Tuesday 28th July – Mini beast safari and bugtatstic baking

Tuesday 4th August – Nature bling and hedgehog rolls

Tuesday 11th August – Upcycled milk cartons and cheese straws

Venue: The Ecocentre, Home Farm, Lodge Lane, Screveton, NG13 8JL

Time: 10.30am – 3.00pm

Age range: 5 – 11

Price £7.50 per child, including ingredients. Accompanying adult comes free, Younger siblings who come but don’t cook – £2.50

The morning will generally be spent baking and the afternoon will be spent outside, with time to visit the animals. Bring suitable clothing, but if things turn really bad we have plenty of cover and activities for all eventualities.

Bookings: Places are limited so we ask that people book in advance. If we don’t have enough bookings it may be necessary to cancel the event.

Please contact Simon at office@farmeco.co.uk or 0759 4469732

Previous Events
I’m saving this because in a year’s time it will probably be a “forthcoming event” once more. 😉
The next event is now just around the corner – The Scarecrow Day.
Tuesday May 26th.
10.30 – 3.00
We will start in the kitchen, making gingerbread men, and then move on to making scarecrows and spoon scarecrows outside. Feel free to bring old clothes and craft materials if you want, my wardrobe has already been comprehensively raided!
The results will be entered in the Scarecrow Competition on Open Farm Sunday (7th June). This is the second year we’ve run the competition and after advice from Shipshape Arts (who are making scarecrows for Hampton Court this year) we have a few new techniques to share.
Price will be the same as last time – £7.50, or £2.50 for those a bit small to appreciate the day. Includes ingredients and an entry pack for the Spoon Scarecrow Competition.
Drinks will be available but please bring a packed lunch.
Further dates planned – Tuesday 28th July, Tuesday 4th August and Tuesday 11th August.

We’re lucky because we have the checks and insurance for our normal work with vulnerable adults and schools. We avoided the need for extra bureaucracy by making sure the parents came along rather than by running it as a playgroup, which is more complicated. It turned out to be one of the best things we’ve done.
