The Insomniac Diaries

The clocks went back at the weekend, I’ve been getting more sleep and at 5am this morning the inevitable happened – my sleep levels overflowed and found I didn’t need any more.

Nature abhors a vacuum, as Aristotle said, and the space once filled with sleep was soon filled with worries. (I always thought that quote came from someone like Pope until I looked it up just now, strange how ideas develop over a lifetime and then turn out to be wrong.

He did, however, give us a little learning is a dangerous thing, which would tend to suggest that this blog could be fatal in the wrong hands, as Wikipedia and my education are both examples of ” little learning”. You need to study something like Classics at Oxford to be fully educated. Then you can become Prime Minister, like Boris Johnson.

I’m off to work now, but will leave you with that thought.

Somehow, Einstein came to mind with that quotation. πŸ˜‰ Hate it when the time changes, especially when we lose an hour of daylight at the end of our already short days.

You always make me smile. Do you know what B.A. stands for: bugger all. I assume your illustrious leader has a bachelor of arts (B.A.), that is what studying classics would get you where I come from. The land that one of our former prime ministers called; “the arse end of the world”

At Oxford and Cambridge they are allowed to upgrade to an MA a few years after getting their A. I believe a fee is involved too.

Julia and Number One son had to work for their Masters degrees. My own academic career didn’t include getting a degree, owing to laziness and a love of socialising. πŸ™‚

I was hoping to study classics at Oxford at one time but happily I was turned down on the grounds that my golf handicap was too high so I have been able to avoid becoming prime minister to the general benefit of the country..

I always get so confused when the time changes. For a week I am out of sync. It all seems so arbitrary and odd, as if they said,”Now everything blue will be called yellow.”

Waking up at 5am in the winter is so different to doing it in summer πŸ₯΄ Although technically as I’m in Cyprus at the moment I’m getting up at 4:30 lol. I wonder what Mr Putin would do with your blog? πŸ˜‚ Talking about Boris, are we still in Europe πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Hmmm Cuckoos seem to do quite well? But as we know our opinions are a complete waste of cerebral time. Hope work was a happy day? Not heard much about the vandalism lately, is it too cold for them now? πŸ₯΄
