It has taken eleven minutes to get this page open. I really must do something about a better computer. Not only is it slow, but as I type I can’t even self-edit because it’s lagging by around 12 characters. Very disorientating, very annoying.
I’m not going to discuss this further as it will probably lead to an outbreak of regrettable language.
It’s strange to think that ten years ago I thought this netbook was cutting edge. That, I suppose, is the price of technology – we always expect increasing speed and ease of use. And we’re disappointed by things that would have seemed like a miracle twenty years ago.
It’s been a quiet day apart from that. We’ve washed and shopped and I’m going to shave my head again tonight. If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing every week.
I bought a proper shaving brush and proper shaving soap today. I really don’t like the foam’gel in cans – partly because they don’t seem sustainable and partly because I don’t like smearing slimy crap on my head. I may have the bald-headed haircut of a thug, but I’m going to shave it like a gentleman.
(Apparently, badgers are an agricultural pest in China, and the meat is eaten, so I don’t feel too bad about using a badger hair shaving brush.)
The picture, as you may have guessed, has nothing to do with the post.
The irrelevant picture was delightful. My computer suffers from bouts of severe delay and I always keep my flute handy so that I can put in some practice while it hangs.
If only I was musical…

I like typing much better on a lap or desk top; the iPad stuff is a pain to correct mistakes and the curser doesn’t mark where you want, so my run on words start way out and I’m almost always starting the whole *&^ thing, sentence over again. You’d think that fruity company could fix that. No, I’m not a dictator, the kind that says outloud for the machine to interpret to written word either, I think you have to say all punctuation too. ick…guess we’ll carry on.
It’s Llandudno. It was a small town until the 1850s when Lord Mostyn started developing it – hence the architecture and tidy nature of the place. The hills in the background are pretty good too, which helps with the look.

My Mum always enthused about it after a holiday she had in the late 40s. It was sort of passed down in family mythology. It’s a bit run down these days but pleasant enough for a day, despite the gulls. 🙂

I’ve only ever seen two live ones – one was eating chips from a discarded wrapper and the other was just a badger’s bum disappearing into the undergrowth. That’s probably one and a half rather than two.

I am really glad you added the last sentence. I was trying to tie the title of your post to the photo and was wondering if they were fishing for badgers. That would be weird because I have never heard of them swimming, not that I have really heard anything about them in any sense. Well, except they make great shaving brushes. I have my hair cut without a guard or with my trimmer. I have thought about shaving my head but then I would have learn to do it every few days instead of visiting the barber once a month. Your computer would drive me nuts. I like things to happen instantly. The left click on my mouse is a bit slow which is the only thing that annoys me at the moment. My sister has complained about her keyboard for over a year but loves her mouse. I think a computer upgrade would be a great idea for you then you can happily get off to a great start writing. You have a great talent and I always enjoy your posts! Take care, my friend!

No need to apologize about the photo. It just reminds me not to be to quick to assume the title goes with the photo. Sometimes it is hard to get used to a new routine because everything else we always do still wants the space. Maybe it is time for a conference with yourself. 🙂

Only comfortable and beneficial changes. I have been the way I am for a long time and changes aren’t always welcome.

Maybe the netbook just needs more memory? You could probably pop that in pretty easily.
That is what I would look at also. WordPress uses a lot of memory.
Time to concentrate on getting the laptop fixed, I think.
