The plans were –
- Publish the post I meant to do last night
- Sleep
- Write
- Shop
- Pick Julia up from work
It’s actually difficult for that to go wrong.
Tonight I will do some decluttering and some cooking. Not much, just enough to say I have carried out the last two elements on my list.
Nobody needs to know I intended to clear the dining room table or cook four meals in advance. A carrier bag of books will suffice, as will a simple beef stew. It was going to be venison (it’s healthier and everybody likes Bambi) but they didn’t have any in the supermarket. They had some last week, which is what gave me the idea. Typical.
Cookery isn’t so bad when you think of the alternative – watching the depressing news on TV, watching equally depressing non-news or watching poor quality repeats.
Ah well, where are those onions…
Some Spring photos, hopefully the first of many.
Mmmm… venison stew! I have some venison in the freezer. I am glad you were able to tick off a few items on your list.

Our local Post Office/Londis does wild venison
Sounds good. You clearly have a better class of Post Office in the New Forest.
They are, however, a dying breed
Yes, things have changed for Post Offices in the last 20 years. π
And, of course, we live in one π
Yes, was thinking of Jackie’s Post House Pie recipe whilst making my cottage pie. π

Crocus already! Awesome. In the town where I grew up, a neighbor had SPRING HAS SPRUNG written in crocus bulbs. They never bloomed in February, I am sure.
If I wrote a message in bulbs I fear it may not be so cheery…
I NEED A FRICKING SCONE
An excellent message, and one I may adopt.
Very good! I am good about telling myself I can do it tomorrow.
Procrastination is my default setting. It’s a rare day when I accomplish much. π
How easy is it to write a list of five simple things, and then to fail. My life!
I get so side-tracked…
Decluttering seems to be a lifelong process with me. Good luck, Quercus!
It seems so simple…
The mental strength required to fill a carrier bag with books for disposal is astounding. Congratulations.
I’d rather give the children away, but Julia has vetoed that plan.
Oh, you’re ahead of us on the way to spring. I haven’t seen a crocus yet! And haven’t been to where I usually see snowdrops, so they could be there, but…
We saw a lot of snowdrops today when we had an evening ride round.
We complain but we actually have good weather compared to many places.
Nice that some of the plans fell into place
It always feels better, even if they are simple plans. π
