Robins were singing in the dogwood hedges (Cynical note to self – Robins are always good for attracting likes).

Your English robins are so cute. They look more like a warbler or a tit of some sort than what I think of as a robin, but now I know what they are and won’t be asking someone that on a trip, looking like a prime idiot.
They used to be thrushes, like your robin, but have been reclassified as chats recently – a dumpier sort of bird.
