When I picked up my old camera last week there were nearly 1,400 photos on it. Each one is a memory, even if the memory is “…and that’s one I took in case the first photo wasn’t any good…”.
The first photos I’ve taken off are from Sherwood Forest – I presume three of the sculptures are still there despite the remodelling of the visitor centre, though I suppose the Robin and Little John statue will have gone as part of the demolition of the old one
The last photo of this set is an outlaw in the car park – I’m afraid that there probably won’t be any outlaws in the new car park. Well, there are no trees, for one thing. This is progress.

I’m quite enjoying a stroll through the old photographs, though some are a bit painful when you think about the passing of time.
The downside of the digital age! I have thousands of pictures stored which I will never have time to look through. I have started naming every picture which I think is interesting enough to deserve some recognition and this helps searching a lot. But as it take might take an hour to put names on a month of old stored images, I don’t think that I will ever get round to the many years of backlog,
I usually find when I do look back that I took exactly the same pictures and wrote more or less the same words at the same time every year. I lead a predictable life.
Yes, I’ve started to notice the same things coming round on mine too. I must start naming and filing. But then again, do I need any more projects?
I will take a trip to Sherwood Forest some day 😀

Oh yes! There always seems to something to prevent me but maybe we can do one of them next week.

I’m not good at throwing things away…
I make folders, label them wth the date and maybe a keyword on my computer. Then I put the photos I take each day in their folders. Then I trash what is on the photo card. You can trash duplicates and the photos you don’t like. That’s why you see the numbers on the photos on my blog. Each photo has a folder and photo number, a title, and the date. 539 folders since January 2009. But you have 1,400 to go through and sort out. Maybe you should keep the photo card and buy a new one and start from there. Just an idea… 🙂
I have 3611 photos on my phone! Actually some of them are videos and not all the photos (or videos) were taken by me on my phone 😊
That’s a lot, even by my standards. 🙂
But iCloud does allow for a lot of storage – and the phone gives the place they were taken in as well as the date. So, it’s just the same as saving in a computer… not actually sure how to get them off an iPhone as there is not SD card.
Julia gets them off her phone by email ing them to me. I don’t get get any off my phone because I’m too lazy to set the email up. I really musy look at a storage system.
I used to email them to myself when I had a Samsung, though they are also on the card that cane with the phone – or at least some of them might be.
WOW!!! I never would have imagined you could have to many photos on a phone. I am a fan of my iMac and I don’t even have a cell phone. I used to have one and I seriously don’t miss it. Maybe I am anti-social in a way, but in the event I want to be social, my cell phone won’t get in the way. 🙂 3611 PHOTOS on your PHONE?!?!?!?! Not telling how many are in my computer. It’s a secret.
