I’m off to the airport in a minute to pick up Julia and Number Two Son.
It will be good to have them back, though I have enjoyed the peace and quiet.
That’s probably all I will have time to post today as I’ve been tidying up, sleeping in front of the TV and reading all evening instead of writing. Mostly sleeping and reading if I’m honest.
I was going to make something excellent in the oven for their return, but I ended up just buying some pasties and oven chips. Add a tin of beans and that should do.
In terms of good intentions I’m a bit of a disaster area.
But in terms of TV snoozing I’m world class.
Everyone needs to excel at something.
You are an example to us all.
Thank you. It’s nice to know my life is not lived in vain.
Welcome home to the travellers! Pasty and chips sounds fine to me. We are still dieting so pastry and chips are at a premium.
In the end we just had pasty and beans, Aren’t we good? π
Gold star for you! π
π
Pasties and chips could be just the business. Just catching up on reading after knee surgery. Probably won’t get too far with those I’ve missed.
Don’t worry about the ones you missed, I’m in poor form at the moment so you haven’t missed much. π
So you would say π

Enjoy the homecoming! Lovely flower – is that a pansy? I have violets with the exact coloring.
Yes, a pansy. Though I see that they are a member of the violet family…

Oh, so interesting! I never knew they were related, but it seem obvious now. Thank you so much for the info!
I knew small pansies were also violas but I’d never linked that to violets until I looked for the link.
It’ll be nice to have them back. I used to live on those cheese pasties that you got from some shop on the high street in about 1989–they were 60 p, and not bad. I forget the name of the shop chain that sold them already heated, in white paper with turquoise.
I love a good cheese pasty…
Me too. I’m sure I can come up with the name of the place, since it was on every high street in 1989 or so–
Was it Greggs? They do salad now.

Interestingly, that denied me access and gave me odd codes:

But I think you’re right. How much might the pasties cost now? 60p for the cheese in 1989–
Sorry about that – the link works for me. May be a geographical thing. I’ll have a look at prices next time I go in.
If you remember–otherwise no big deal, but I’d be interested in the comparison. Isn’t it strange that I can’t use that site…? It’s the internet! I’ll see if they have an alternative one–
I will just have to make myself visit a Greggs. Really, the things I do for my readers!
We are truly not worthy of your largesse.
