I’m only making two resolutions this year.
Clearly neither of them involve writing a blog of stunning originality, as the word “resolution” produced an endless stream of posts when I searched.
The first resolution is to eat what I want for the next two weeks and not to worry about my weight. There’s so much food left over, including a Christmas Pudding, that it seems silly not to enjoy it.
The second resolution is to only make two resolutions.
So far I’ve succeeded with number two and I’ve made a good start to the other one. To be honest, I’m feeling slightly smug at this success rate.
Did you make any resolutions?
How are they going?
I’m surprised how many people here say they don’t make resolutions. I never have but assumed most people do. My introduction to them was when kids I went to school with talked about their resolutions and you (okay, I) just knew they’d never keep them. It all seemed silly–a pre-programmed way to think we could all turn into better people while staying pretty much exactly who we were to start with and accomplishing nothing.
Not that I’m cynical about the process or anything.
After years of trying to make myself a better person I decided to be fat, cynical and rude. It was the first year I ever stuck to my resolutions. π
Success comes in many forms.
π I have found that lowering my standard cis the key to success in life. There may be other ways too.
I only made one; don’t make fun of other people’s resolutions.
That’s good. π
LOL! As far as my new years resolutions go… I have decided not to write them down as it seems to make them “have to do’s”. OH, crap, maybe I did write a few down somewhere.
π If they were difficult I wouldn’t tell anyone…
No resolutions for me. Take life as it comes. π
π
Well done, I have the utmost respect for people who make resolutions. I never make em so I never break em π
It’s a good plan. π
Not this year… If I wanted to be disappointed I would just watch the news these days.
Sad but true. Good luck with the rest of the year.
No resolutions. No point. Never kept.
A wise man who knows himself. π

No new year’s resolutions for me!
Sensible woman! π

Luckily I soon forget what I have resolved so I can say anything..
Yes, I can see the benefits in that approach. I may work on that for next year.
Good resolutions! Letting all that food go to waste would be a shame.
Yes, I’m pleased with my progress on the resolutions. π
Hope you had a good Christmas.
Well done you! Still, almost everyone achieves their resolutions on the first day.. we’ll have to see how you manage tomorrow π
I’m pretty sure I can carry on eating too much tomorrow. π
How’s the overeating going?
It’ s going very well thank you, though I’m starting to feel the need for a plainer, healthier diet. I think I’ve done enough – I’m currently finishing the last of he mince pies with a cup of tea. π
You have another 8 days of the 2 weeks to go…
I know – I just don’t have what it takes to keep on eating. π
