Sunday Morning Catch Up

I haven’t been particularly fluent in the last week and I’ve missed a few things out.

The anti-coagulant blood test came and went. They managed to get the blood first time and the next appointment is in two weeks time so things are back on track. I’m hoping to extend the interval so I only need monthly tests. I know someone who has quarterly tests, which would be even better.

We went to the farm on Friday, as I mentioned and found that Evie the sheep dog had died at the weekend. The general view is that she had eaten poison, though I’m not sure where she would have found any as all the rat poison round the place is put out properly in bait boxes. It’s not the best run farm but they do get that right.

She was bred to herd sheep, and as I mentioned when she first arrived she immediately tried to herd the Quercus group, but she was never properly trained and I’m not sure if she had a fulfilled life or not. She didn’t seem overly happy at times, which is a shame.

The men in sheds were saying how good my bread was on Friday. This isn’t linked to any proper measure of quality, they just used to like getting free bread when I was practising and made too much. I said I didn’t bake these days as the kneading plays havoc with my arthritis. Next thing I knew I was being offered healing.

I’m not much of one for faith healing and that sort of thing, and was prepared to feel no benefit, but can’t say that was the case. There may have been some improvement for a couple of days, but it might just be wishful thinking. The jury is out, but I’m certainly not going to dismiss it. The improvement may show more about my imagination than about my arthritis, but even an imaginary improvement is worth having.

Then on Saturday I met a paranormal investigator. You’ll have to come back later for details, as I need to get down to the launderette now. Suffice to say that if I had doubts about healing…

I am an avowed sceptic, but I saw a homeopath years ago and have had little trouble with my eczema since then.

Really? That’s interesting, our local farm has been selling raw milk for a couple of years now. I buy cheese made with unpasteurised milk, but, although I have had it, I’ve always been a bit wary of raw milk.

I knew a woman of 80 plus who always drank unpasteurised milk from her own cows. Didn’t seem to do her any harm. I think cows are managed much better now, and are healthier, than in the past.

I am sorry about Evie, Quercus. There are so many things animals can get into outside, it would be hard to say what killed her.

Take whatever good things come your way, and hopefully your arthritis will feel better soon. I have heard of a home remedy involving gin-soaked raisins that people swear by. Rick has his own preferred version of that, straight Pedro Ximenez wine.

Such a sweet little dog face! So sorry to read about her death. As for feeling better…yes, just take it however it comes.

I’m sorry the poor dog died. What a nasty way to go!
I definitely believe in faith healing. I attended a pilgrimage for the sick at Walsingham in 1992 and by the following day all pain had gone and I was free of it for seven years. I had had no hope that anything would come of it and was very shocked and surprised by my cure. My arthritis came back again after I had my second daughter.

I am a great believer in the power of the mind when it comes to healing so I hope that your improvement continues to improve. I am sending good vibes. Mind you I have had very good results with Flexiseq on my arthritic thumb (but that might have been mental too).

Flexiseq works for me too, though as you say, it might be mental.

I once saw a man who had been cursed by a witchdoctor. He could hardly walk and since then I’ve believed in the power of the mind.

There are ups and downs with everything. AsI become healthier I am more cheerful and as I get more cheerful I become more irritating, according to Julia. I merely think I become funnier.and have better ideas. 🙂
